Sunsets at the beach, nothing beats them right?! Well, except a huge black sky that throws a dark wet blanket all over your sunset dreams.

I checked the weather app to make sure that the sky was going to be clear and it confirmed the evening was going to be sunny and clear. Boy oh boy was the weather man wrong. The sky was blue and clear as we arrived and I said to Russell “it’s going to be so pretty and pink!”. We quickly shot some photos of my outfit and as I was looking back through them I wondered why the lighting was so dark, I looked up and realised our fate. Within seconds it started slowly drizzling and then BANG full, heavy downpour. Russell put his hat over my head and we ran back to the car, laughing and trying to understand exactly what had just happened. As I said on my Instagram caption for this outfit:

“came for the sunset but ended up soaked from the rain within minutes after these snaps 🙈🌧 but that’s okaaaay because rain is beautiful 💦 without rain we have no flowers and without flowers there is no happiness 🌻🌺💐🌷🌸🌼🌹 rain grows everything that allows us to breathe and eat. next time it rains - try to remember all the good that it brings and forget your frustration with it 🥰 also do this anytime you feel a frustration! switch up your thoughts so that flowers grow in your mind and not dark clouds ✨🌼”

My personal little goal for you this week is to try catch ONE (or more if you can! one is easy to start with!) negative thought and stop it’s progression immediately. Replace whatever it was with something positive. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy. Something simple will do. Example - you look in the mirror and think “yuck who on earth let’s themselves leave the house like this? I should stay home, I feel ugly” Stop. Literally stand still, close your eyes for a second and take a deep breath. Open your eyes and look back into the mirror. Tell yourself, out loud, something you love about yourself. It doesn’t have to be physical. Maybe you love how calm you are in heated situations? Maybe you love the dimples on your cheeks when you smile. Say one thing positive. Build that resilience and take care of your self. Keep on doing this until you grow a lovely garden of flowers in your mind.

Self love rant over: here are the photos of my outfit from my collaboration with Princess Polly.

I purchased these clip in extensions during Summer last year from Loxy’s and only wore them a few times because it was way to hot to have that much hair during Summer! They have been so lovely to have back again - I definitely favour long luscious locks!

Obviously I had to add in these photos! My darling boyfriend Russell (sense the sarcasm), aka my photographer, thought it was hilarious to not mention there was a PILE of sand on my jeans when I got up and tried to direct him to take a cute hand holding photo. I admit it is a tough gig taking outfit photos of me all the time and I appreciate the hell out of him, so I laughed with him and wiped away the sand while he scrolled through the photos in amusement :).
