A vibrant green smoothie jam packed with incredible vitamins to give you a revitalizing kick!

  • 1 handful of spinach

  • 1/3 cup cucumber

  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger (grated)

  • 1 stalk (including head of leaves) celery

  • 1/2 cup chopped pineapple

  • 1 kiwifruit

  • 1 cup water

  • small handful ice cubes

optional (I added these however you can choose not to add them as they don’t interfere with the taste)

  • half green apple

  • 1 small lime wedge

  • 1 teaspoon of ground chia seeds

Add water and ice cubes into the blender first, then add the rest of the ingredients. Blend until desired consistency.

You can leave out or add in whatever you like! My smoothies are just a guideline and I encourage you to play around with the ingredients!

Green smoothies have a common reputation for being very healthy, but can sometimes be unappealing taste wise. I have been making and drinking smoothies for as long as I can remember and I can honestly admit that it’s all about trial and error, sometimes I still end up making one that can be hard to swallow!

The portion sizes of what goes into your smoothie obviously determines how it will taste. Adding sweet fruits to balance out the earthier plants will make a huge difference. The first attempt at this smoothie produced a very strong celery and ginger taste. After the first sip I went back to the drawing board…pineapple and kiwifruit were added and it turned out perfectly!

Me: What were your first thoughts?

Russ - “Very celery’y and sour initially. Definitely needed the pineapple to balance it out.”

Me: Once the fruit was added, how did you like the end result?"

Russ - “It tasted like….health, but very delicious.”

Hope you enjoy trying out this smoothie! Let me know how it turned out if you do try it!

All my love,
